Event: Project Clean and Recycle: Join the Cleaning Up of Ajegunle on December 14, 2013.

Want to get our hands dirty for a good cause? Project Clean and Recycle is a community clean-up initiative aimed at mobilizing five thousand (5000) volunteers to clean-up major dirty streets in Ajegunle and also spread the awareness of waste sorting and recycling as an effective waste management practice.The NGO focuses on Community Clean-up Projects and Climate Change. Some of their projects are supported by the Clean-Up the World Campaign in Australia and Let’s Do It World Clean-up Foundation in Estonia.

It is required that during this exercise volunteers will clean the gutters, drainage, streets and also embrace recycling by sorting the waste that will be generated from trash and keeping recyclable materials in separate containers/bags to be disposed of approximately at the LAWMA Recycling bank that will be provided by LAWMA.

In the past, Passion House has successfully hosted thousands of volunteers and cleaned up tons of garbage in five different Local Governments in Lagos state in partnership with GlaxoSmithKline, makers of Macleans and N.N Fems Ltd, makers of Apple and Ozone Cosmetics with support from Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) and Lagos State Ministry of Environment. The project has successfully executed Clean-Up Ajegunle in December 2010, Clean-Up Mushin in March 2011, Clean-Up Amukoko in June 2011, Clean-Up Surulere in October 2011 and Clean-up Oshodi Project in December 2012, mobilizing thousands of Volunteers to clean the environment, thereby contributing towards the effort of Lagos State in bringing about positive change in the environment.

All the Volunteers are expected to gather at Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government in Ajegunle for short briefing and sensitization before the commencement of the exercise by 8am Prompt on the project day – Saturday 14th December, 2013.

    Dear Baillif,
    This is a loudable project how i wish it could be extended to other part of the country, i would have loved my organisation to do same in Delta State.
    please is such collaboration with your Organisation possible in Delta State so that we can carry out similar projects am already working out one on youths taking action to sustain their environment when entails cleaning up drains, cleaning up markets and educating the people on proper waste disposal practices.
