It’s back! Get excited! The United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) is awarding a free trip to Milan for a winning blogger to participate in World Environment Day (WED) celebrations on 5 June at the Expo Milano in Italy, and to post blogs and updates on social media about the experience.
This year’s WED is themed Seven Billion Dreams. One Planet. Consume with Care. It is a challenge for all to re-imagine one’s aspirations for a good life that is de-linked from conspicuous consumption. We call on everyone to be aware of how the daily individual consumption habits of seven billion people can have a huge impact on the planet, which is why the power to make change happen is also in our hands.
Expo Milano 2015 is the Universal Exhibition that Milan, Italy, will host from May 1 to October 31 2015. Over this six-month period, Milan will become a global showcase where more than 140 participating countries will show the best of their technology that offers a concrete answer to a vital need. Expo also involves international organisations and expects to welcome 20 million visitors to its 1.1 million square metres of exhibition area – and you could be there too!
Can’t wait? Take a virtual tour right now!
Flights and a daily subsistence allowance for accommodation, food, local travel, etc. (per applicable UN Rules) to WED events in Milan will be covered.
World Environment Day is on June 5th, 2015. The contest winner will be flown to Milan for two nights.
Entrants will be expected to ensure they are able to travel to Italy for the duration and cover any other costs (e.g. vaccinations, if any).
Competition entry details are available on the World Environment Day website.
